Our last visit with the Bond crew answered several interesting rumours about the franchise and the upcoming installment, “Quantum of Solace,” but with the international press focused on every aspect of the production, new questions continue to arise. The cast and director Marc Forster were happy to shed light on some of the more recent rumours floating around the Internet.
Rumour: James Bond drives a Ford Bronco in the movie.
True or false? False. Bond’s trademark Aston Martin DB5 will return for “Solace,” but 007 fans were weary of Craig being behind the wheel of production partner Ford. While Craig confirmed he drives several vehicles in the new flick, a 30-year-old Ford Bronco isn’t one of them. Craig says that pleasure belongs to his co-star, Olga Kurylenko.

Rumour: Amy Winehouse is no longer singing the title song.
True or false? True. Director Marc Forster wouldn’t comment on the troubled singer directly, but he confirms a new search is underway. He says, “We are looking, seeing what is out there. It’s a tricky one because it has to be right.”

Rumour: “Quantum” was intended to be a sequel to “Casino Royale.”
True or false? True. According to Jesper Christensen, who appears as Mr. White in both films, when he was first contacted about the role, he was provided a screenplay for “Royale” and a detailed treatment of the then-untitled follow-up. Christensen says, “It made my life very difficult, the first one, because there were so many things I couldn’t say.”

Rumour: Craig has kept one of 007’s trademark tuxedos.
True or false? True, although, he refers to it as a “dinner jacket.”

Rumour: Amalric bases his character, Greene, on former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
True or false? False (sort of). The French actor says his comments were taken out of context. “I said, 'I could be inspired by the smile of Tony Blair, which is like a mystery.' Or how Sarkozy has to keep inside his agressivity and his violence and he tries to. And I find that fascinating for my character.”
